The slate roof is an essential part of a building. It serves as a protection from changing climates such as heat from the sun and heavy loads from the snow. It is normal for a slate roof to slowly deteriorate over time. Regular inspections including a moisture test of building roof systems will lead to early detection of roof problems. By taking our independent correct preventative measures, the slate roof is guaranteed to have a longer life span.

A roof survey undertaken by Consurv would entail a detailed analysis of the type of slate roof, a moisture test and the compatibility of materials proposed for use with the existing elements. Specialist surveying equipment will be used to test the strength of the existing elements.

Our independent options would be offered on the existing structure and whether or not repairs or replacement is required. Specifications would be supplied as to proposed materials and maximum guarantees sought from manufactures such as Trocal.  

Firstly we preform a moisture test and then our roof survey considers the entire envelope. The down-pipe / drainage system will be expertly examined to ensure nothing comprises the life expectancy of the roof structure. Up stands and plant rooms will also be considered so that they are properly weathered and welded on the roof surface.

Independent expert opinion will be offered on weathering details to guarantee the roof fulfills its life expectancy and beyond. Giving you the building the correct path on whether you should repair or replace your existing roof, slate or otherwise.
